Airport Bars, Turo Cars, Checked Bags & Jet Lag
As a travel wedding photographer, my passion lies in capturing the beauty of love stories against stunning backdrops. This past August, I had the incredible opportunity to travel from Pennsylvania to Alaska to photograph an intimate elopement for Krystal and Caleb at the breathtaking Hatchers Pass in Wasilla, AK. The journey began with a total flight time of 14 hours, filled with excitement and anticipation for what awaited us in the Last Frontier. Upon landing in Anchorage, I could already feel the magic of Alaska enveloping us with its majestic mountains and endless natural wonders.
The Elopement at Hatchers Pass
On August 3rd, 2024, I found myself at the top of Hatchers Pass, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Krystal, the stunning bride, wore a white lace dress that hugged her body elegantly, complete with a long flowing train that danced in the gentle mountain breeze. Caleb looked sharp in his blue suit adorned with soft pinstripes, perfectly complementing the vibrant landscape around us.
As they shared their vows at the summit, the love they had for each other radiated in this magnificent setting, making it a moment I was honored to capture. The combination of their love story and the picturesque scenery of Wasilla created a beautiful narrative that I couldn’t wait to share.
Exploring the Wonders of Alaska
But our adventure didn’t end there. My husband and I spent an entire week exploring the breathtaking sights of Alaska. From the stunning fjords of Seward to the imposing presence of Denali, the tallest mountain in the United States, each day was filled with new experiences and memories.
One of the highlights of our trip was a sea cruise that allowed us to witness the incredible marine life Alaska has to offer. We also embarked on a thrilling jet ski glacier tour with Glacier Jet Ski Adventures out of Whittier. Zooming across the water, surrounded by towering glaciers, was an exhilarating experience that left us in awe of nature’s power.
Alaska’s wildlife was another highlight of our journey. We hiked along Alaskan trails, discovering hidden waterfalls and encountering some of the remarkable creatures that call this land home. Our accommodations at a beautiful Airbnb in Wasilla provided a cozy retreat after our long days of exploration.
We also indulged in relaxation at the Alyeska Nordic Spa, where we soaked in the stunning views while unwinding from our adventures. And of course, we couldn’t leave without trying our hand at salmon fishing in the Kenai River, where we experienced the thrill of reeling in a catch against the backdrop of Alaska’s pristine landscapes.
